When I visited Frankfurt Airport hotels I was aghast to see the huge structure of the airport. I came to know that the renowned airport is the third largest in Europe serving to many airlines around the world as well as largest airport in Germany. Then south side of the airport is Rhein-Main Air Base was a major airlift base for the unite states from 1947 until late 2005.It is located 12 Kms from the Frankfurt city centre. Lufthansa the national airline of Germany takes access to the Frankfurt airport quite frequently. Since there is a lot of traffic in Frankfurt Lufthansa divides traffic between Frankfurt and Munich’s Franz Josef Strau International Airport. At present Frankfurt currently serves more destinations that are 265 non-stop destinations than Heathrow airport at London.
Even though Frankfurt is third in Europe behind London’s Heathrow airport and Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport in terms of passenger traffic.
